Dr. Edward Darfour Appah is a dedicated specialist psychiatrist with the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, where he provides clinical leadership in psychiatric assessment, crisis intervention, and therapeutic care. He currently heads the Rehabilitation Centre and serves as the Board Chair of the Institutional Review Board of the facility, overseeing ethical review of all research proposals.

A member of the Ghana College of Physicians, Faculty of Psychiatry, Dr. Appah is deeply committed to advancing mental health advocacy, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration. He was elected Vice President of the Psychiatric Association of Ghana for the 2025–2027 term.

Dr. Appah has over nine years of experience tutoring foreign medical graduates preparing for the Ghana medical licensing examinations.

He has a strong track record in both inpatient and community-based mental health services and remains passionate about mentoring the next generation of mental health professionals and strengthening Ghana’s mental health system.
