Dr. Dennis B. Daliri is a Ghanaian psychiatrist whose professional journey reflects an outstanding blend of clinical excellence, academic distinction, research productivity, and transformative leadership in mental health care across low- and middle-income settings. Since completing his medical degree in 2013, he has accumulated more than eleven years of clinical experience, beginning with general medical practice before transitioning into specialist psychiatric care. His postgraduate training at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons culminated in his attainment of Membership in the Ghana College of Psychiatrists and qualification as a specialist psychiatrist in March 2021, marking a significant step in his commitment to advancing mental health services, particularly within underserved communities in northern Ghana.

His academic achievements further reinforce his dedication to professional excellence and intellectual growth. Dr. Daliri holds an MSc in Clinical Psychiatry (Distinction) from the University of South Wales, a qualification that strengthened his grounding in contemporary psychiatric practice and global mental health. Complementing this is a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University for Development Studies, which enhanced his ability to incorporate public health principles into mental health policy, service delivery, and community-based interventions. He is currently nearing completion of his Fellowship in Psychiatry at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, further deepening his specialist expertise.

Dr. Daliri’s research career is both prolific and impactful. With approximately twenty publications in reputable psychiatry journals, he has contributed meaningfully to knowledge on substance use disorders, cultural interpretations of mental illness, adolescent mental health, community mental health systems, and the rights and needs of vulnerable populations. His work demonstrates strong methodological versatility, spanning qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches, and consistently emphasizes culturally grounded and socially responsive mental health care. A notable highlight of his career is the prestigious Presidential Honour bestowed on him by the President of the Republic of Ghana in recognition of his significant contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dennis enjoys teaching and playing table tennis as his hobby.
