DR. YENNUSOM MAALUG is a Specialist Psychiatrist and is a Member of The Ghana
College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS). He is also a graduate of the School of Public
Health, University of Ghana.
He has an interest in addiction Psychiatry and Public Health.
He has a passion to get things done. This he has done successfully in various leadership roles
he has occupied.
He is the immediate past Organizing Secretary of the Psychiatric Association of Ghana. He is
also the immediate past Organizer for the National Association of Public Health Students –
University of Ghana Chapter. He is a former Vice-President of the University for
Development Studies Medical Students Association (UDS-MSA) on two occasions in
2006/2007 and 2011/2012.
Dr. Maalug is a firm believer in humanitarianism. He has therefore been involved in several
humanitarian activities through several Organisations he leads. He is the CEO of the Health
Project located in Madina, Accra, which organizes free medical outreach for Communities
and also donates free medical equipment to health facilities. He is also the Executive Director
of the Mental Health Institute, a non-governmental organization focused on mental health
whose aim to ensure good mental health for all.
Dr. Yennusom Maalug is the Psychiatrist-in-Charge at the Bank Hospital at Cantonments,
Accra. He is also a Specialist Psychiatrist at Pantang Hospital as well as at EURACARE
multi-specialist hospital. Dr. Maalug is the Medical Director of the Brain and Sleep Medical
Center at Abokobi, Accra.
Dr. Maalug is a Part-time lecturer at Accra college of Medicine, Accra; The Mental health
department, College of Health and Well-being, Kintampo; Radford University College, East
Legon, Accra, and The University for Development Studies Medical School (till 2020).
His hobbies are playing table tennis, reading novels, watching football, and discussing local
and international politics.
Dr. Yennusom Maalug is happily married with two children.
